Ghost Tour Guide

Would you like to get paid to tell scary stories? Well, we’d like to make that happen! Join the DC Ghosts tour team and lead groups of people around the area for one to two hours while telling captivating ghost stories that entertain and move your audience. It’s a fun, part-time job, and we’re hiring! Candidates should be self-motivated and fun loving. Some of the details: Compensation is $50 per tour paid twice a month, plus cash tips. Tours last approximately 90 minutes and have anywhere from 2 to 35 guests. We operate year-round, seven days a week. We expect candidates to commit to giving tours up to three days a week, for a period of one year. The process is simple, and divided into three parts: 1. We’ll do a phone interview online (google hangouts) for all interested candidates. 2. If it seems like a fit, we’ll send you your paperwork to get the process started. This includes your signed contract packet, W9, and background check information. Once you return it, we’ll begin training. 3. Training: Our training process is designed to ensure the success of our staff: A) You’ll learn the route and material. Practice reciting the stories out loud, either by recording yourself or in front of friends. You can attend any current tours to see what it’s like. You will have four weeks to learn the material. B) Once you can recite the stories, you will be tested. The test includes giving a current tour guide a tour, or a virtual test where you rehearse the stories. C) If you pass, you will be set up in our booking system and scheduled. Your first tour to guests will be supervised. Once you give a supervised tour to guests, we’ll receive feedback from the guests and the tour guide monitoring you. If the feedback is positive, you’re hired! If not, we’ll give you more time to work on it, but you should be confident and ready before this step. In leading tours, we expect you to follow all policies and procedures, to communicate with scheduling staff, and to never be late or miss a tour. And, always take care of the guests.
