Job Description: Lakewood Ranch, Florida Lakewood Ranch, FL “Entry level Trainee Workers Compensation Medical Claims Adjuster” Job Type: Temp to hire position Salary: $30,000.00-$33,000.00/year Hours M-F 8:30-5:00 Job Description: This position involves investigation, timely payment of benefits, knowledge of EDI requirements, negotiation and settlement of workers compensation claims and compliance with the requirements of all workers compensation statutes in Florida. Duties: • Investigate claims by interviewing claimant, employer, witnesses, and physicians.• Determine compensability and total value of claim.• Monitor medical treatment in conjunction with Medical Management personnel.• Promptly approve medical bills for payment.• Provide prompt authorization of medical services.• Coordinate light duty availability with medical providers and employers.• Maintain adequate reserves for life of claim.• Convey positive attitude and team spirit for optimum provision of services to customers.• Attend client meetings as necessary.• Determine subrogation potential and pursue recovery where applicable.• Maintain acceptable claim closure ratio.• Negotiate settlement of claim if warranted. Qualifications: • Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously• Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis/judgment and sound decision making with focus on attention to details• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written• Great customer service skills• Computer literacy, including MS Office, Word, Excel Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Great customer service skills Computer literacy, including MS Office, Word, Excel Must possess a Florida All-Lines or Workers Compensation license or obtain your license within 90 days of hire Required education: Bachelor's Degree
