Compensation & Total Rewards Analyst / Senior Analyst

This position is a key resource for the company’s salary and incentive programs. Scope of responsibility consists of both strategic/macro-level and tactical, day-to-day responsibilities. Base salary $60-75k+ Competitive benefits and discretionary bonus. Richmond, VA. Responsibilities - Work with the head of Total Rewards and senior management to drive compensation strategy across the organization. This is not a purely analytical position and requires communication and collaboration. Aid in the refinement and communication of compensation programs, policies and procedures. - Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures. - Provide data-supported suggestions on employee compensation decisions, using internal equity and external benchmark data where applicable. Ensure data sources for compensation decisions are reputable. - Under the guidance of the Manager of Total Rewards, advise management on pay decisions and policy/guidelines interpretation. - Take a key role in the company’s salary and bonus processes. - Ensure job descriptions are in line with FLSA guidelines and jobs are categorized appropriately. - Through self-audit and review, ensure that compensation programs are being consistently administered across the organization. - Collaborate with the Benefits/HR Management team on a variety of projects, including program design, analysis, budgeting and implementation of new programs. Assists with the administration of the North American compensation and merit bonus programs, including annual review and bonus cycles. Work with HRIS and IT staff to ensure that the HR systems in place meet compensation management needs and are updated to reflect changes to salary structures, bonus programs, etc. - Assist Benefits/HR managers with compensation-related issues. - May be tasked with generating and distributing total compensation statements. - May be tasked with covering employee benefits responsibilities. Will work closely with those in HR covering benefits; some flexibility is required. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. - Three to five years’ experience in the analysis, design and/or administration of compensation programs. - Exposure to designing and administering employee benefits plans strongly preferred. - CCP, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP professional designation a plus. - Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel (intermediate to advanced) and Access (preferred but not required), experience with HRIS and benefits databases. - Experience with ADP Workforce Now. Experience with other HRIS is also helpful. - Project and team leadership skills and experience. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines. - Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on the proposals (RFPs). - Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee compensation programs. - Excellent communication and organization skills.
