Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager - $110-120K + Bonus – Steel & Aluminum/Metals Foundry Operations - Sets the strategic and tactical direction for the maintenance and facilities departments by directing the activities of the staff engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of the plant. Is responsible for Total Productive Maintenance principles throughout the facility. Facilitates the implementation and maintenance of a continually improving a work order and computerized change management system. Reviews reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance and facility activities and cost savings. Ensures that operating machines and equipment are inspected for conformance with operational and safety standards. Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization or labor and materials. Oversees all outside contract work for new construction, repair, technical and janitorial services, fork truck maintenance, etc. ensuring that all cost, quality, delivery, and safety standards are met. Reviews new product plans and strategizes equipment needs and modifications with engineering and manufacturing staff. Directs on-going training and orientation of employees to improve work performance, enhance skills, and ensure employees understand and comply with company policies and procedures. Confers with management, engineering, and quality control representatives to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and condition of machines and equipment. Prepares and monitors expenditure of funds in budget. Promotes order, safety, positive work habits and a positive attitude in the facility. Promotes 5S and continuous improvement activities to include project leadership and ownership BS Mechanical/Electrical Engineering preferred and at least 5-8 years of maintenance & facilities engineering related experience in a metals foundry & die casting or primary metals manufacturing facility (preferably automotive components, not required). More than 3 years management/leadership experience within similar manufacturing environment managing a staff engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of the plant. Must have strong related technical skills. Computer proficiency required (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Development skills and/or training to be provided after entering position.
