Position: Tableau Developer /Administrator Location: Denver, CO Duration: 12+months Locals only Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both m or and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. Under broad direction and supervision, develops, maintains, and enhances Tableau server and its accompanying infrastructure. Maintains and updates existing Tableau servers, tests client applications to determine compatibility with upgrades and works with clients to resolve any issues. Serves as the primary technical point of contact on Tableau server engagements of moderate to high complexity including service tickets requiring expert analysis. Involved with the investigation and resolution of complex data, system, and software issues in the production environment. Under broad direction, designs and implements strategic partner onboarding. Participates in capacity planning to ensure Tableau servers are adequately sized and configured to meet current and projected demand. Participates in performance testing to ensure Tableau Server meets client application SLA's. Develops and maintains internal tools. Design, development and administration of dashboards to monitor the performance of a Mart using Tableau. Perform maintenance, ongoing enhancements and support administration dashboards created. Documentation of end-user requirements. Provide infrastructure system expertise, requirements and assistance to Systems and Database Administrators, other System Architects and application development teams. Work with line of business (LOB) personnel, external vendors, and internal Data Services team to develop system specifications in compliance with corporate standards for architecture adherence and performance guidelines. Assist in both external and internal audit questionnaires and application assessments. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree in a related field such as information systems, mathematics, or computer science or equivalent education and related training This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact and collaborate with other IT teams and Lines of Business. Eight years of experience in data warehousing practices including an understanding of building relational data models 5+ years of hands on experience as a Tableau Administrator performing Installation, upgrading, monitoring, debugging, tuning and capacity planning. Tableau Certification is a plus Practical knowledge in Tableau Server best practices: including administration, security, & clustering and the ability to communicate the pro & cons of each based on strategic implementation goals Exposure to and strong working knowledge of distributed systems involving internet protocols Sound understanding of client-service models and customer orientation in service delivery Ability to derive technical specifications from business requirements and express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to multi-disciplinary teams, in verbal as well as in written form Experienced Technical troubleshooter who can quickly get to the root cause of issues and provide input towards permanent solutions Ability to grasp the 'big picture' for a solution by considering all potential options in impacted area Aptitude to understand and adapt to newer technologies Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products Ability to travel as needed, occasionally overnight Desired Skills: Data analysis skills ? ability to dig in and understand complex models and business processes with advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Tableau report development SQL or other database querying languages Ability / willingness to participate in production support activities, including after-hours support Previous experience in the financial services industry Experience with performance tuning and documenting changes INDBBTIT Familiar with Installation, configuration, patching and upgrading of Tableau tool across the environments Manage the application's users, groups, and integration with Active Directory Automate monitoring & server job processes Should be capable of doing Tableau Server Management (like Clustering, Load Balancing, User Management etc) Knowledge of Tableau Licensing Should be familiar with tableau migration and scheduling.
