Job Duties Work with drawings, specifications, supplier quotations, engineering standards, and other information to provide material take-offs and cost estimates. Make various calculations such of strength of materials, weights, simple forces and stresses. Consult with partners, vendors, and other departmental personnel to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Uses discretionary judgment to approve change orders and approves construction progress. Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate construction systems. Create AutoCAD drawings Minimum Education and skills Required Bachelor in civil engineering or related field. The ability to move from design concept to finished designs, including layouts and tolerance valuations and ability to create detailed drawings. Good working knowledge of construction processes and planning. The ability to provide conceptual and detailed estimates on a variety of multi-family and commercial projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD with basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) Great attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Strong organizational and time management skills are a must! Cost Estimating Order of magnitude thru detailed budgeting is a plus!
