Job Title: Radio Operator Linguist/Signals Intel Analyst Security Clearance Required: Active Secret Work Week: Monday - Friday Hours: 8am – 4pm shift 4pm – Midnight shift Shifts rotated bi-weekly Flexible Hours: No Work Location: El Paso, TX Position Overview: The Signals Intelligence Analyst facilitates communication intercept operations that are key to the accomplishment of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) and the El Paso Intelligence Center’s (EPIC) counter drug/counter narco-terrorism missions. The SIGINT analyst will also be responsible for monitoring radio transmissions, and operating a myriad of intercept related communications equipment to include High Frequency Direction (HFD) finding devices. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: •Operate HF/VHF/UHF radio intercept and direction-finding equipment •Monitor HF/VHF/UHF type radio communications •Perform real-time translation of intercepts from Spanish to English •Collect, analyze and report SIGINT data •Write intelligence reports •Maintain daily logs and reports •Enter information into EPIC's major databases. •Verify all keyed data entry. •Perform comparison of documents with the data bases. •Conduct on-line update and verifications. •Perform on-line creation of new records. •Input data keying with microcomputers or word processors. •Enter data using several source document formats. •Review all documents for accuracy and completeness. •Log, batch and collate supportive material as needed. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: •US Citizenship •CLEARANCE: Must have SECRET clearance; TS preferred •Demonstrated ability on a real-time basis to speak, listen and quickly decipher colloquialisms, slang and translate the Spanish language into a summary in English at a minimum proficiency level of 3/3. •Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and report Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) data •Minimum three (3) years’ experience in communication intercept operations. •Working knowledge of various radio and electronic equipment to include a basic knowledge of radio wave propagation as it affects HF/VHF/UHF type radio communications •Excellent written communication skills •Ability to carry out temporary duty deployments to foreign and domestic locations in support of SIGINT missions, sometimes on short notice. •Experience with PROPHET, LLVI or DF highly desirable.
